During the 3rd Annual General Assembly held on March 14, 2017 at the 11F IPC Training Rooms, upon proposal from the Board, the membership has approved by acclamation, to include brothers and sisters in the Damayan Fund coverage (GA Resolution No. 2017-07). Previously, only dependents up to the 1st degree of consanguinity and affinity (parent, spouse, children) are covered.

Damayan Fund is a support system among members themselves to help defray funeral expenses of a Regular Member who lost a dependent. P10,000.00 is given to a bereaved member as “abuloy”. The P10,000.00 is then divided among all the members of the cooperative.

In 2016, the Cooperative has released 5 Damayan Fund Claims to members.
